Amazing experience at my first Michelin Star! They have many vegetarian options which is unique and the options were very good. The dessert is what made this place stand out. The sticky toffee pudding and the chocolate cake with the blood orange sorbet were phenomenal.

I visited for dinner 7/4/24. I enjoyed my experience and thought the food was overall pretty solid. The pesto bread was warm and fluffy, a perfect start to the meal. We then ordered: - beef carpaccio: 8/10, thinly cut and had good flavor - ricotta gnocchi: 8.5/10, cooked al dente and the ricotta was creamy - citrus marinated chicken: 10/10. We were told this was the restaurant's specialty and it didn't disappoint. It was probably the juiciest chicken I've ever had. Even the breast was incredibly juicy, which is so, so rare to find. Dine here for this if nothing else. - pork katsu: 9/10. The sauce is a 10/10, unique and delicious. Pork was crispy and a good size. - satsuma orange: 9/10. Refreshing orange flavor and I loved the honeycomb bits which complemented the orange flavor and added texture. Service was 10/10 also. Most of the items we ordered were recommendations from our server and we were glad we followed them. Now this has made me want to try Saga next.

I had a lovely dinner at crown shy this weekend. It was my first time visiting and I hope to be back. Ambience: The ambience is nice for a date night. The dining room is large and dimly lit. You also have a view of the kitchen from your seat. For a Michelin starred restaurant, the vibe felt more relaxed with some people even wearing shorts and sandals, which surprised me. I also didn't know that the restaurant has a hip hop theme. There was a poster of Biggie by the restroom as well a walk of hip hop icons, which is cool. I only had one issue-The two person tables are very long for some reason so you feel very far away from the other person. Service: I was very impressed with the quality of service. We were running late due to bad weather and they still managed to seat us within minutes of arriving. We told them that we were trying to make a show and they brought out the courses very quickly and immediately brought us the check. Food: To start, we had the focaccia with chives and pistachio and goat butter. I'd never seen goat butter at a restaurant before. The bread came out warm and topped with shaved cheese. It was a nice savory bread, albeit it a little dense. My husband enjoyed the butter and said it wasn't too strong. For our mains, we ordered 4 small plates (note for two people, our server recommended 3-6 small plates. We were fine with the 4 we chose). We ordered the jerk octopus, ricotta gnocchi, crispy octopus and the Gruyère fritters. Here are the menu items we enjoyed and would recommend as well as the ones we would skip Recommend: Jerk octopus 8/10- this was my favorite dish of the evening. It has some heat from the jerk sauce but the octopus is beautifully charred. Comes with pieces of fried plantain. Crispy eggplant 7.5/10- the eggplant was delicious. It reminded me of eggplant parm with cherry tomatoes on top. Gruyère fritters 6/10 - if you're expecting something in the mozzarella stick family, you'll be a little disappointed. These are more like savory mini churros with a Gruyère sauce than a Gruyère wrapped pastry. Still good but not what I expected. A little doughy, but still worth ordering in my opinion. They're cute and very photographable. Skip: Ricotta gnocchi 5/10- while the sauce had a nice taste, the gnocchi themselves were flavorful. I didn't taste the ricotta at all. Overall, I thought this was a great dinner and I'm glad I had a chance to try it out.

I absolutely loved my experience at Crown Shy! The ambiance was fantastic, creating the perfect atmosphere for a memorable meal. The staff was incredibly attentive and friendly, making sure we felt well taken care of throughout the evening. I really loved the gnocchi it was really pillowy and comforting but the standout dish for me was definitely the Gruyère fritters--honestly, they were some of the best I've ever had! While the pork was a bit underwhelming, everything else was insanely good. I was a little nervous about it being a Michelin Star restaurante, but to my surprise the pricing was spot on, making this place a great value for the quality of food and service. Highly recommend Crown Shy for a fantastic dining experience!
